5. IP Addresses and Other Automatically Logged Information; Aggregated and Anonymous Information

An IP address is a number that is automatically assigned to your computer whenever you are using the Web. It performs a function for individual computers much like a Post Office Box number serves Postal Service customers. Web servers, which host Web pages that you may visit, automatically identify your computer by its IP address. When you visit pages on our Web site, our servers automatically save – “log” – your IP address. We also may log other information about your visits to our Web site.

The IP addresses and other logged information may be used to assist in your navigation and use of our Web site. They may help us better serve you on your visits to our Web site, such as by tracking your preferences and tailoring your visits to your interests.

This information also allows us to better understand the visitor traffic to our Web sites. We may use it to create statistical or other studies that aggregate the information on an anonymous basis. We may use that information internally, for system administration and improvement, or to assess or analyze other issues relating to our mission.

We may share this aggregated, anonymous information with Corporate Partners, sponsors and other third parties. However, we do not disclose IP addresses or other automatically logged information to third parties in a way that personally identifies any visitor. We may use or disclose such information to identify a visitor, however, to enforce compliance with our Terms of Use or to protect the U.S. Soccer Foundation or others.

The Foundation will occasionally ask users to complete surveys or questionnaires. These surveys are always optional and you do not have to answer any survey question to visit sustainable-sport.com. Please only participate in those surveys that involve the disclosure of information you are comfortable with sharing.
